Components
Hardware
The simulator consists of the following hardware components:"Simputer":
- Intel Core2Duo E6600 2.4GHz CPU
- 2 GB Kingston DDR2-800 Ram
- ATI Radeon x1950Pro
- Soundblaster Live!
- 19" TFT Monitor
- Soundblaster 4.1 Soundsystem
- Celeron466
- 512 MB Ram
- MatroxMillenium G450
- 2 6,5" LCD-Monitors
- Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar (modded with FCC and original throttlearm)
- Simped F-16+
- BetaInnovations GammaRay 256
- BetaInnovations Plasma V2
- OpenCockpits IOC Mastercard
- 2 MM5451 LED Controller Chips (70 LEDs)
- 1 IOC MasterCard (45 LEDs)
- 2 IOC Display-II-Cards (32 7-Segment-Displays)
- 2 IOC USB-Servo-Cards (12 Servomotors)
- 1 EA GE120-5VN24 Serial LCD
Software
There has to be the appropriate software, to make the simulator run:Simulation:
- Falcon 4.0:AlliedForce
- (testing) Microsoft Flightsimulator 2004
- (testing) X-Plane
- FAST (Falcon -> SIOC)
- BetaInnovations KeyboardStudio
- OpenCockpits SIOC
- SLO (SimuLatorOutput - selfwritten software to control the LED-Chips and the EA-LCD)
To get the full CPU and graphicspower in the simulation program, data is send over the network to the "Outputer" through FAST.
Here SIOC and SLO are doing the output of the data and control all the LEDs, displays and motors. This way, the simputer can make use of the full performance only for the simulation program.
